nutrition fun - "taras bulba / 16 poems"
[lathe cut seven inch]
one of the founding artists in the unread scene, nutrition fun has been heard (and not heard / misunderstood) through the decades in many different forms. from the early beginnings of the man with guitar and handheld format to the boxfan years and back again. though lately nutrition fun has found himself (after giving up on music numerous times) in full band mode, as well as branching out on his songwriting in various other forms. this slab collects a decently overdue set of songs, which captures full on pop spewage that may even at times break the "verse/chorus/end" format. a great six and a half minutes for the uninitiated - though the songs run much deeper than the shallow grooves on this hunk of plastic. may need tone arm / coin trickery - but well worth it. download included if you own shit stereo. limited to only 40 copies, in handmade sleeve with cyanotype glued to front, and poem screened on b-side of square record. ($10)
